As cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and quantum computing rapidly advance, the semiconductor industry is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. According to data from the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI), the rise of these three major technologies is injecting new vitality into the entire industry, rapidly driving the growth of the semiconductor sector. CHANGING will participate in SEMICON Taiwan 2024 as an IoT security expert and showcase its innovative "CHANGING IoT Security Solution" at the SECPAAS Security Pavilion.
The core of the CHANGING IoT Security Solution lies in the use of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) technology to significantly enhance the security and reliability of Microcontroller Units (MCUs), thereby strengthening the overall protection of IoT devices. MCUs are the core components of IoT devices, responsible for processing important data and controlling the operation of equipment. Their security directly impacts the stability and reliability of IoT systems. According to a report by the GSM Association, the number of globally connected IoT devices is expected to reach 25.2 billion by 2025. As the IoT market continues to expand, the security of MCUs remains a critical factor that cannot be overlooked.
CHANGING's solution covers a range of key features, including unique device identification, secure boot, firmware updates, and device lifecycle management. The company collaborates with hardware manufacturers to provide comprehensive security protection from hardware to software, achieving end-to-end protection from the source to the application. CHANGING's General Manager, Anderson Yang, stated that as IoT technology rapidly evolves, MCUs are facing increasing security challenges. CHANGING is committed to extending its years of experience in identity authentication to device authentication and leveraging its deep expertise in secure chip technology to continuously advance the development of technologies applicable to device authentication.

CHANGING safeguards MCU security, ensuring the reliability and stability of each operation of IoT devices.
In addition, to address the threat that quantum computers pose to traditional cryptographic security, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) began selecting post-quantum cryptographic algorithms (PQC) in 2016. On August 13, 2024, NIST finally released the first batch of standards, which include FIPS 203, 204, and 205. These cryptographic technologies, known as post-quantum algorithms, have now been standardized into two main categories: lattice-based algorithms (LBC, FIPS 203, 204) and hash-based algorithms (HBS, FIPS 205). Previously, LBC had IEEE P1363.1 LBC, and HBS had NIST SP800-208 HBS. The current new standards are the result of the evolution of previous algorithms by experts. CHANGING has comprehensive testing and in-depth understanding of existing standards, enabling it to quickly grasp the new generation of algorithms and provide corresponding software services. Once the new generation of hardware is released, it can immediately assist with online usage. In response to the challenges brought by PQC, CHANGING is actively adjusting its strategy, covering research and development, product upgrades, customer education, and standardization collaboration to comprehensively address the impact of quantum computing. This process involves not only technical upgrades but also long-term risk management and migration plans to ensure that the future cybersecurity ecosystem can continue to operate effectively in the quantum computing era.
At the SECPAAS Security Pavilion of SEMICON Taiwan 2024, 13 domestic cybersecurity companies will showcase their solutions aimed at enhancing the cybersecurity resilience of the industrial supply chain. These companies will promote the adoption and application of cybersecurity technologies by showcasing their independently developed technologies and products, engaging in expert discussions, thematic sharing, and interactive displays. At this exhibition, CHANGING will leverage its expertise in MCU security to help Taiwanese enterprises gain a competitive edge in the global market, discussing future cybersecurity challenges and response strategies with professionals from various fields, and jointly promoting the development and application of Taiwan's cybersecurity technologies.
