FAQ

The host of MOTP/IDExpert passed the international OTP certification of OATH.

The phone APP(Android/iOS) of MOTP/IDExpert all passed the certification of [APP basic security testing standards of the Industrial Development Bureau].

If you log in the push protection system of MOTP/IDExeprt, but do not receive the log-in notification, the reasons may be as follows:
  1. Poor network connection or the network is not turned on.

When the phone is located at places with bad signal in the basement, mountain or Taiwan High Speed Rail, you may not receive the push.

  2. Error notification setting of the phone
    • Please check the notification setting on your device.

    • For Android, please go to the device “Setting” > Application > MOTP/IDExpert > Notifications > Notifications on

    • For iOS, please go to “Setting” > “Notifications”> MOTP/IDExpert > “Allow Notifications” and check all prompts; “Show Preview”: “Always”.

  3. The phone has installed the battery optimization software/power saving software/cleanup software/CPU cooler software.

(e.g. Clean Master, 360 Total Security, Battery Magic Doctor, Battery Doctor, Battery Optimization etc.) The said software will force to turn off the push notification. MOTP/IDExpert shall be turned on again to continue the reception after forced off. We suggest you delete the said software or similar ones. Most users can receive the push notification normally after deleting such software. If you need to use similar software mentioned above, please exclude the MOTP/IDExpert from the setting exception list.

  4. Use the following phone devices that will force it turn off the “push.”

When using these Android devices, please refer to the following information first for how to change the setting.

    • HUAWEI phone

Because the new HUAWEI phones are unable to use Google service, please refer to Item 6.

Old HUAWEI phone setting (version supporting Google service)

If the “Force off exited APP” function of the device setting is on, the phone cannot receive the push message.

Please go to “Setting” > Battery Explorer >APP off for lock screen > MOTP/IDExpert > Turn on “Don’t turn off” (the steps vary from different versions)

    • ASUS phone

Please turn on the “Autorun Manager” to prevent forced off.

Please go to“Smart Master” > Permission management > Autorun Manager > switch to “Downloaded” page > find and allow MOTP/IDExpert. For more information, please refer to the ASUS website (traditional Chinese)https://www.asus.com/tw/support/FAQ/1038613/

    • OPPO phone

Please allow not to force off MOTP/IDExpert by the background program.

Please refer to the video description for more information (traditional Chinese)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B57HqxLMN70

    • One Plus phone

Please go to the device “Setting”> Application > “Setting” icon >Application auto opening > Allow MOTP/IDExpert

    • Samsung Smart Manager

You may not receive the push notification and the received push notifications might disappear if the Samsung Smart Manager switches MOTP/IDExpert to Battery Saver. Please add MOTP/IDExpert to not monitored applications by the following method.

Setting > Smart Manager > Battery > Not monitored APP (below) > click “Add app” and add ‘MOTP/IDExpert’

  5. Unused MOTP/IDExpert APP for a long time

Regardless of Android or iOS, the push priority will be reduced by Google and Apple if the APP is off for a long time. For users not using MOTP/IDExpert every day, we suggest you to turn on MOTP/IDExpert APP before system log-in to ensure that you can 100% receive the push confirmation message to log in the system. Please note that the expired push log-in is invalid. You may receive expired push message after turning on the phone APP if the MOTP/IDExpert is unused for a long time.

  6. Chinese brand phones released within the territory

Because the phones released within the territory of China cannot use Google service (including HUAWEI international version), please download APP for Chinese phone. Please note: App for China cannot receive the push in the background. In case of use, the phone and APP shall be turned on in advance to receive the push message normally. The push time may be prolonged and exceed the limit of 30 seconds due to the great firewall, please turn on the OTP verification function simultaneously to log in via OTP when the push reception is unavailable.

The structure of MOTP/IDExpert aminly consists of three parts: Authentication host, application and certified token.
  1. Authentication host: It is mainly built in the Intranet of the customer for internal use and web page operation only. When connecting to the application, the IP shall be registered for access to ensure the safety of the host. The confidential data saved in the database of the host is also encrypted.

  2. Application: The IP shall be registered in the authentication host for connection to avoid malicious attacks.

  3. Authentication token:

    • The hardware OTP meets the OATH standards.

    • The phone APP has passed the APP security test and all keys are protected with encryption. The user can turn on the biometric function (fingerprint/face) to protect the safety of APP.

    • The SMS/email OTP is used as the basis of the cyber security for the phone/email.

    • The FIDO/fingerprint complies with the FIDO standards and Windows Hello standards.

Please refer to the safety white papers for other details.

The following are the reasons resulted in the failure of OTP validation:
  1. The time of the host and hardware token is inconsistent with the time of the APP, e.g.: The VN host just starts up without proceeding the time synchronization, inaccurate time due to unused hardware token for a long time or the network time synchronization function of the phone is not activated (or the old phone adjusts the time automatically.) Please adjust the time of the host and device or use the system synchronization function.

  2. The account is locked due to too many times of error; you may not log in the system regardless of the correctness of the entered OTP. This requires the administrator to unlock or you can wait for the locking time to pass.

  3. When the two-factor authentication is used, you may not log in if entering the wrong password or OTP.
