CHANGING recently secured a Taiwan invention patent titled “Hash-Based Post-Quantum Multiple Signature System, Method, and Computer-Readable Medium,” patent certificate number I925491, published on May 11, 2026. The patent was co-invented by CHANGING R&D team members Sam Lee and Rusty Lin, reflecting the company's in-house research capabilities in post-quantum cryptography, digital signatures, and software supply chain security.
As quantum computing continues to develop, public-key systems based on RSA and elliptic curve cryptography are facing long-term security challenges. Government agencies, financial institutions, critical infrastructure operators, and software supply chains all need to prepare for post-quantum migration. In high-privilege signing scenarios, major version releases, firmware updates, and sensitive document approvals often require cross-department authorization. Balancing signature security, operational efficiency, and privilege separation became a key starting point for this patent development.
The hash-based post-quantum multiple signature mechanism allows a master device to send signing requests for the same message to multiple signing devices at the same time. Each device generates a hash-based signature using its own hash-based hypertree, including Merkle tree, OTS, and FTS components. The message and multiple signature results are then combined into a complete multiple hash signature.
Compared with traditional sequential signing, parallel processing can shorten multiple signature operations while keeping device separation, independent operation, and multi-party approval. This architecture is suited for high-security signing workflows and helps reduce the risk of excessive authority being concentrated in a single signing node.

patent for high-privilege signing and multi-party authorization.
CHANGING stated that post-quantum cryptography adoption also requires planning around key lifecycle management, signing privilege control, system performance, platform integration, and long-term validation. The newly granted patent integrates hash-based post-quantum signatures, multiple signing devices, and parallel processing into one architecture, laying a technical foundation for high-security signing services.
As requirements for post-quantum migration and software supply chain security continue to rise, CHANGING will combine its existing PKI, HSM, KMS, and CIoT IoT security solutions to continue technical validation, performance optimization, and application scenario integration. Through customer proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and industry collaboration, CHANGING will gradually transform the patented technology into product solutions for software supply chain, critical infrastructure, and IoT security markets.
Future R&D directions will focus on Code Signing, firmware signing, Secure Boot, OTA security updates, long-term signature validation, and high-privilege signing control. The technology may also apply to IoT device identity verification, critical infrastructure command signing, and electronic documents that require long-term preservation, helping enterprises prepare cryptographic agility and system security planning before the quantum era arrives.
